I seriously cannot believe that it's almost 2020! I am sooooo excited to see what this New Year will bring, but before that, let's take a look back on what an amazing year 2019 was! A year full of laugh, love, adventure, travel, and growth.
I started the year off back in Savannah celebrating New Years and getting ready to start my winter quarter. Winter quarter was probably my hardest thus far at SCAD. Lots of sleepless nights.... The weather in Sav was horrible, I woke up and it was dark and I left classes and it was dark. Needless to say, I was ready for the quarter to end.
Feb is one of my favorite months of the year! I love celebrating the little things and I am always down for a holiday all about PINK and LOVE! The beginning of the month was a kickoff to midterms. Looking back, I didn't get much sleep at all this quarter, but I ended up making the Deans list, so it was 100% worth the hard work. I traveled to FL twice, once to celebrate my dads' birthday at our beach house & also to Disney for the Princess 1/2 weekend with my mama! I ran my first 1/2 marathon, so basically I really can do hard things. #winning. I also got to see the Jadelynn Brooke sisters which was epic!
March is a fun month in Savannah! It was beautiful all month long and it was starting to feel more and more like spring. I ran lots of races with Kristen and Kristina & I finished up my winter quarter (thank Goodness!!) I was SO excited to get away for spring break. My cousin, Heather and I went to Palm Beach to design a CUSTOM SHIFT (!!!!!!!!!) as well as a trip to see Mickey Mouse! After an amazing spring break trip, I headed back to Savannah for my spring quarter!
Surviving not thriving through classes, working, and trying to live my best life in Savannah. My dad visited for parents' weekend for SCAD and I got to show him all around the city I love so much. We went to all of my favorite places and went to the SCAD sidewalk festival in Forsyth Park! He got to meet my friends and see my apartment after it's been well lived in. Haha!! This was the BEST weekend and I am looking forward to him coming this year as well! We also went and picked up the CUTEST moped for me to ride around SAV. I have way toooooooo many parking tickets (p.s. do they roll over into the new year? hahaha)
May was a whirlwind! Between getting ready for the SCAD fashion show, finishing up my projects and studying for my finals, I needed to move out of my apartment before the end of the month. I loved where I lived before, but I HATED the drive into downtown. I felt like I was looking forever for the perfect place. Riding around on my moped one day, I saw a for rent sign in my favorite area of the city, and as soon as I looked at the apartment, I knew it was PERFECT!! Dog friendly, 5 minute walk from all of my buildings, and it has a bath tub! So I packed up my entire apartment within a week, rented a U haul and moved to downtown SAV! Thank goodness that I have the best friends who helped move, decorate and celebrate in my new place!
This was by far my busiest month of the year!!!! The day after I finished classes, I packed up many, many bags and flew to Pennsylvania to meet my sister, Brianna, to head off for a two week long European adventure! We flew to Amsterdam to begin the journey and let me tell y'all.... it was SO fun! I haven't laughed so hard in my entire LIFE. The trip was long and I was missing my sweet Louie, but I seriously wouldn't have traded this trip for the world. I have individual travel guides for each country we visited- click back a few posts to read!
I returned home to Savannah just in time to celebrate my best friend Kristen's birthday!!! We spend the day at the beach and went to dinner, and the very next morning I switched over my bags and headed to Palm Beach for the second annual Pink Retreat! It was a wild weekend but it was SO. FUN.
After a Lilly- filled weekend, I headed back to SAV to settle into my new apartment, celebrate my Louie Vee's first birthday, and to soak up some sweet summertime before my next trip.
My other bestie Kristina's birthday was on the 1st, her entire family and I drove to my beach house in Cocoa Beach to celebrate what we thought was just her 25th birthday, but her boyfriend proposed AT DISNEY WORLD!!!!! It was epic and we were on such a high the ENTIRE trip! We spent the rest of the week in the sun and laying on the beach.
When we got back to Savannah, my sister and Meals flew down to visit and we had the best time. I loved having them stay with me for the week.
Summer was passing by so quickly! My August was just as busy as the last two months. I finally got to take a trip home, my first actual time at home in over SIX months! It was seriously the best trip ever and it went by way too quickly!! I loved getting to enjoy the beautiful summer PA weather and spend time with my crazy family! Being away has made me cherish my time home more. Louie Vee and I also road tripped to Bristol and Gatlinburg, TN for the Bristol NASCAR race, as well as explored Gatlinburg for the week. We went to Dollywood & the Gatlinburg Sky Lift. It is SUCH a beautiful city! Back in Savannah, I celebrated my ONE year at Palm Avenue with Kristen and Annie. So much fun!
This was a CRAZY month!!! Classes were due to start the second week of Sept and I was soooooo excited to get back into the swing of things.... and then hurricane Dorian decided to come. Classes were pushed back a week so Louie Vee and I packed up and heading to my sisters house in DC. We stayed with her for the weekend and it was a blast. Brianna took us to the best places, the Lilly store, the Nat's game, Pedicures, Medium Rare, Ted's Bulletin, Carmine's, The Drybar... the list goes on and on. It was SO fun! After that, I made the trek home to PA to see my parents. The storm passed and it was safe to return to SAV, so Louie and I packed up and made our return home. We stopped again in DC to stay with Brianna. Once back in SAV, it was a whirlwind getting back to classes. We had makeup classes for two weeks and I felt like I was constantly playing catch up and was just over it.
Meals came to SAV to celebrate her 20th year and I had soooo many projects due for midterms! I spent a ton of time creating my portfolio and my logo. I was so excited and proud of what I designed! I also chopped out basically all my hair! That was wild!! haha!
Midterms came and went and finals did as well! It was a busy month finishing up fall quarter and I was looking forward to it ending. I was invited to Palm Beach for the Worth Avenue one-year opening custom shift party and Louie Vee and I went for the weekend. We stayed at the Colony Hotel and seriously lived our best life! I loooove this hotel and can't wait to go back and stay this summer! I ended the quarter on a high and heading home to see my family for the holiday and to enjoy our 6(ish) week break!
Ahhhhh finally Brynncemeber!!! I started off the month in Disneyland in California with my family. This was an incredible trip and I will share my recap post sooooon. I have just been living it up at home and in Savannah and enjoying the best season of all. I feel so blessed and grateful to have this time to spend with my family.
Overall, it has been truly an amazing year and I feel extremely fortunate for every place traveled, laugh shared & tear shed. I know everyone is reflecting on their highs from the year, myself included, but I always have to remind myself that it is OKAY if this hasn't been your best year. We are all taught that we need to give 100% of ourself every minute of everyday and sometimes that just isn't feasible or realistic. Going into 2020, I am giving myself GRACE. I know I am capable of hard things and I cannot wait to see what is to come.
