Girl On A Mission
Updated: Aug 22, 2018
Just like the new Jadelynn brooke motto, I am a girl on a mission!
Just like every other eighteen year old, i have dreams, goals, and so-called "missions". I always have been a dreamer. Always wanting to grow up and get to do all of the fun things i have watched my parents and sister do over the years. Now that it's here, i just want time to slow down and give me a change to catch my breath.
I am at that time in my life where i am in-between phases. As a senior in high school, struggling with "normal High School" things, a handful of my own struggles, trying to figure out what the heck i want to do next year, and also dealing with all of the emotions of saying goodbye to my family and best friend in less than 5 months.
The last year has passed by in a blur, with so much happening and changing in my life, i really haven't looked around and absorbed everything that has happened, and how blessed i truly am. It's been tough, but soooo dang worth it.
last may, i won my election for student council president. that was my mission for my junior year. I am not one who takes "no" very easily. When i see something i want, i do everything in my power to make it mine. I campaigned and put every ounce of effort and strength into my campaign, and with the help of my bestie, (and some ice cream sundaes) I won!!!!!
I think that is something that really opened doors for me. Realizing that when you have the passion and love for something along with hard work, amazing things can happen!
THE day after i won, I hopped on a plane and flew half way across the country to little Dripping springs, Texas, where my life changed. Hands down the best week of my entire life (My recap post here.) In one week of time, I knew exactly what i wanted for myself in this big world. sometimes you meet people who really change your entire life. These were my people.
Whenever i am feeling down, i think back to this week. wellllll, and I eat ice cream. They both work well! LOL!
This past fall when i was applying to my dream school, savannah college of art and design, I really spent the time and effort to make my application look as best as it possibly could. I knew the chances were slim that i would get in, but again I had to try hard and let them know that i was their girl! they must have agreed! I was so overcome with emotion when i heard the news that i was accepted! Again, the hard work and the help from some amazing people, another dream of mine was made.
I think that part of life (and being a girl) is to dream as big as you can. but, on the other hand, know that failing is also a part of life.
This year, my "mission" is to spend as much time with my family that i can before i move away in the fall, to find out why my blood disease isn't under control yet, blog as much as i can, travel often, spread as much love and happiness as possible, and to sky dive! I have my work cut out for me for sure!! Good thing i love a challenge!!!
to all of you girl bosses; dream big, never take no as the final answer, Make your happiness a priority, Love often and allow yourself to be vulnerable, oh, and Always buy the shoes!
